Speedwell Pty Ltd, also known as Speedwell (we, us, our) is committed to providing quality services to you and this policy outlines our ongoing obligations to you in respect of how we manage your Personal Information. 

We have adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act). The APPs govern the way in which we collect, use, disclose, store, secure and dispose of your Personal Information. What is personal information? 

Personal Information is information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable whether or not the information or opinion is true, or recorded in a material form. 

What Personal Information do we collect it? 

The types of Personal Information we collect will depend on the nature of your interactions with us. We may collect Personal Information about:

Where we are collecting and holding Personal Information for research purposes, the Personal Information we may collect and hold may include your answers to our research questions, and your name, date of birth, address, phone numbers, email address, occupation and other details about you. You may choose not to answer any of questions or give us any of these details. 

How is this Personal Information collected and held? 

This Personal Information is obtained in many ways including directly from you including from interviews, correspondence, by telephone, by email, by use of written forms, through contact over the telephone or via mobile or other messaging technology, via the internet including our website https://speedwell.com.au/ or social media or from your website, from meetings or other in person contact, from media and publications, from other publicly available sources, from cookies and from third parties. 

We will collect your Personal Information during the information life cycle, on an ad hoc or recurrent basis including for example when you acquire a product or service from us and make changes to that product or service. We may also combine or link Personal Information we already know about you to other Personal Information that we have collected. 

Why is Personal Information collected, held, used and disclosed? 

We collect your Personal Information for the primary purpose of providing our services to you, managing our relationship with you, conducting research, providing you with information and responding to your queries and for our own marketing purposes. Access to your Personal Information 

You may request access the Personal Information we hold about you by contacting us. 

We will respond to your request within a reasonable time. We will provide you with access to your Personal Information, unless there is a law that allows or requires us not to. If we choose not to provide you with your Personal Information, we will provide you with reasons for any refusal in writing. 

We will not charge any fee for your access request, but may charge an administrative fee for providing a copy of your Personal Information. 

In order to protect your Personal Information we may require identification from you to verify your identity, before releasing the requested information. 

Correction of Personal Information 

It is an important to us that your Personal Information is up to date. We will take reasonable steps to make sure that your Personal Information is accurate, complete and up to date. You can also request that we correct any inaccurate, out-of-date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading Personal Information. We will respond to your request within a reasonable time. 

We will take reasonable steps in the circumstances with regard to the purpose for which your Personal Information is held to make this correction. If we choose not to correct your Personal Information we will provide you with reasons for this refusal in writing and you can ask us to associate with the information a statement that you believe the information is inaccurate, out-of-date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. Security of Personal Information

We hold your Personal Information in computer systems, electronic databases, digital recordings and hard copy or paper files. The ways we do this include: limiting physical access to our premises, restricting electronic and physical access to your Personal Information, maintaining technology security products, and destroying or de-identifying Personal Information.

However, where the Personal Information is or will be stored in client files this will be kept by us for a minimum of 7 years. 

Anonymity and pseudonymity 

You can interact with us anonymously or using a pseudonym where possible in your interactions with us, unless we are required or authorised to identify you or it is impractical to deal with you anonymously or by pseudonym. 

Sensitive information

Sensitive Information is defined in the Privacy Act to include information or opinion about such things as an individual's racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership of a trade union or other professional body, criminal record or health information. 

In the course of our business we may also collect and hold Sensitive Information, which may include: criminal records, health information and memberships in professional associations. 

If you provide us with Sensitive Information it will be used by us only: 

  • For the primary purpose for which it was obtained 
  • For a secondary purpose that is directly related to the primary purpose 
  • With your consent; or where required or authorised by law 

Third Parties
